This is the first thing I've painted in oil since 1977. 18 x 24 on student canvas board. It's the cover to an old pulp magazine entitled Terror Tales. The original was painted by John Newton Howitt and titled River of Pain 1934. While I think this is a pretty terrible painting I decide to show it just because it's the first thing I've done in oil in so long. I used no Turpenoid in this one. I just mixed the paint right out of the tube with refined linseed oil and slopped it on. I think it'll take about five years to dry.
