Well it's almost 8 o'clock and this has been easily the most boring Halloween I've ever seen. Mary and I think it has to do with lack of trust and ultimately the polarization of our country right now. Everybody seems like they are holding their breath.
Not to cast the first stones -but we noticed that the Bush/Cheney houses (for the most part) weren’t home. Probably out praying for the ass whooping that's coming to them on Tuesday. God forbid that children have any sort of fun.
I've decided that next year we are just going to grab all our creative and actor friends together and have a big haunted house and costume ball afterwards. The girls are getting too big anyway.
So Happy Halloween anyway, dammit.

My grandmother died on Monday night. It's a very sad thing for me. She was such an influential person to me. She was almost 97. We're having the funeral on Saturday in Little Falls. Basically between starting my new job and this it’s turning out to be a very long week.
Call or email me if you want more information on the funeral.
Brandon Routh of Undressed fame? Seems like I know someone from Undressed? Oh yeah! -my brother was a producer on it for three years. So my brother must know Superman? How cool is that?
I had always thought, in a democracy -- and, again, I don't know -- I've only lived in this country -- that there's a process. They call them primaries.
Didja see Jon on Crossfire? Man, what a sad state this country is in if Jon has to go and explain things to these two ding-dongs.
So I'm watching Real Time with Bill Maher last night. I just got this new DVR from the cable company and I can watch On Demand shows (which is pretty cool BTW).
Michael Moore was one of the guests. Some of the discussion was about the current political polls and how accurate they were. According to Moore they are only polling "likely voters" which means people that have voted before. Now according to NPR when I was listening to it the other day the election judges in Minneapolis are expecting a 90% voter turn out on November 2nd.
Most of the people I know are voting Democratic. I'm wondering if people have actually had enough of our current oligarchy and will really turn out in droves?
I found Christopher Reeve's death sad and useless. Apparently since he wasn't 'saved' in the religious right's understanding of it, he's going to hell. Nice. way to not judge less you be judged guys. What a pile of assholes.

"Superman" Star Christopher Reeve Dies At 52
Wow, this really sucks. I was a big fan back in the day. He was also doing guest shots on Smallville last season.
John Kerry was even talking about Mr. Reeve in his debate Friday -in a pro stem cell research sense. Too bad. Just a sad thing.
Mary's in the news talking about her mentor Monte Bute. I guess we have a few more friends here than we thought.
Bush fails again...?
I don't know Bush looked pretty upset the whole night? But he might have some personal shit going on. It seems like Bush is going for the passion/emotive thing and Kerry is going for the cool confident intellectual thing. Personally I likes me an intelligent president -but maybe that's just me. Of course I'm biased. I'm still trying to figure out how Saddam wanting (somehow, some way, maybe someday) to make WMD's by some means validates a war in which over a 1000 US soldiers have died?
This is a really funny show. I've spent a good deal of time on Oak Street beach (the beach across the street from Laguna Surf and Sport -which is a great surf shop by the way) -and it's exactly like this show. Okay, they do leave out the rampant prejudice of Laguna (it's lily white there), the locals deep hatred of tourists, and of course (in my experience) the right wing hatred of the local religious right extremists. Oh -and they seem to be hiding the large gay community that also calls Laguna home. It's sad really. I suppose the TV version will become the accepted norm and Laguna will become more expensive, more trendy and completely lose what little bit is left of it's old California beach town vibe. Sad for surfers but good for business I suppose.
Hopefully San Clemente will stay off the radar a while longer.
Wow, since returning to the grind of full time work I don't seem to have any time at all. Go figure? Still though, I'm digging it. Busy but happy. It's all coming together (finally).
There is a big old comic con in Minneapolis this weekend. The MCBA Fallcon. I'm going to try and make it Sunday. 'Cuz I'm still geekin' after all these years. Stop by and say "hi" if you're there.
