I get a lot of SPAM in my comments section. Every morning I check it. It's generally some sort of male enhancement or pharmaceutical crap. Luckily Movable Type is very decent about giving me easy tools to deal with it.
This morning I got a comment in an old entry about Cindy Williams. Apparently there is a vast Jewish-Feminist Conspiracy aimed at the unsuspecting public from the clocktower-esque vantage point of Nick at Night.
I guess the fact that I still refer to it as Nick at Night instead of TVland dates me...but I digress.
It's Mary's birthday today. We rented long boards and went to the beach. Fun, fun, but tiring. Must lie down now....
Mary (Jo) had a little odd sized mole/cancer/growth biopsied last week. After a week or so of worry it turned out that it was benign. So in celebration we've dubbed her with the pseudo hip hop nomenclature B-9 (or MC B-9 -either is acceptable). Use it at your discretion.
Mary and I work a lot. we've been so busy the last three months I'm never sure what's going on anymore.
We had vistors all last week. It ended up being a long week in which we didn't work much. We did on the other hand get to go to the beach.
I made the paper link if you tried to look at the Belle and I in the paper you have to sign up with the OC Register to view the article. No cost -just register and then the article will come up.
I made the paper but this time I didn't really even do anything wrong. I'm okay with a smoking ban on the beach. I'd rather be at the beach than smoke any day. I'd like tourist ban or maybe just "locals only" beach but I bet I won't get that.
I forgot to renew my domain (again) so if you emailed me in last week or so I probably didn't get it.
My grandfather died on last week. He was 87. My brother went to the funeral -I stayed here and worked. I pretty much work more than anything else lately. I haven’t seen that side of the family for 21 years. I didn’t really think about that until I heard that he had died.
Mary and I actually spent time alone together for the first time since moving here this weekend. The girls were visiting and Logan and Mary Belle went to the pier. The silence was deafening (but fun).
Lord of The Rings swept the Oscars last night. Maybe there’s something wrong with me but I absolutely despised that series. I was dragged to the first one by Mark, Tamara and Mike and literally spent most of the movie walking around the lobby looking at upcoming movie posters. Wishing I was anywhere else.
Mostly I just don’t like that sword and sorcery crap. Given my extreme geekiness concerning most thing sci-fi, horror and comics, etc… (and anything to do with William Shatner). One would assume that I would be all over those little Hobbit bastards. So not the case with me. I mean it’s not just that I don’t like it. It seems to annoy me on a really deep level. Anyway I’m glad it’s over. I was happy to see the Mystic River got some action.
The Passion of the Christ came back as a box office lion this weekend with an astounding $117,538,00 gross.
The grocery store strike finally ended. I have to admit I was completely wrong to have crossed the line back in October. Free groceries or not. Those people went through a long winter standing out there every day and stood up for themselves. I appreciate that .
