I watched this morning as the Iraqis and the Marines toppled this statue of Saddam in central Baghdad's Firdos Square. It really was fascinating television. It took a long time to bring it down but I think that had something to do with way the people were throwing shoes at it for about an hour.
I kept wondering why they were throwing their shoes? I mean do the Iraqi's have so many shoes that throwing them at evil regime icons is a viable option for them? Are shoes the kind of weapons they've been developing over there? Frankly I'm scared. Regardless of the whatever the national terror alert level is today, I'm definitely on bright burnt umber or burnt sienna myself.
I'm also a little concerned about the way Mary keeps eyeing her clogs when she thinks I'm not looking....
